Latest Cricket News – A three-match Test series is being played between India and South Africa. The second match of the series is being played at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. By the end of the first day of the match, India have scored 273 for three wickets. During this, Cheteshwar Pujara scored an innings of 58 runs. During his innings, Pujara did something that he has never done in Test cricket before. Pujara is considered a Test specialist batsman and the number of sixes in his account is also very less.
Pujara has scored 5631 runs in Test cricket, but during this time only 14 sixes are recorded in his account. Pujara is technically a very strong batsman and he rarely plays shots in the air, but in the current series he has got three sixes off his bat. This is the first time Pujara has hit a six in two consecutive Test matches. He has never done this before. Although this is not a record, it is still quite a surprising figure.
Pujara has shown in these two innings that he can also increase the pace of runs according to the need of the team. Pujara smashed 58 off 112 balls and hit 9 fours and a six during this period. Prior to this series, Pujara had 11 sixes in 70 Test matches. Pujara had earlier scored 81 off 148 balls in the second innings of the Visakhapatnam Test.
