Latest Cricket News – A three-member committee headed by former Indian captain Kapil Dev will interview the candidates for the new Indian coach on 16 August. This committee will conduct this interview at the headquarters of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The three members of the committee Kapil Dev, former opener Anshuman Gaekwad and former women cricketer Shanta Rangaswamy have been informed about the interview date. Interview will be completed in one day.

Prominent candidates in the race for the coveted position of Indian coach are Tom Moody of Australia, former New Zealand coach Mike Hewson, former Indian all-rounder Robin Singh, former manager of Team India and current Zimbabwean coach Lalchand Rajput.
New coach will be available before India-South Africa series
The contract of current coach Ravi Shastri and other support staff was terminated after the World Cup, but the BCCI asked the support staff to continue in their positions till the tour of West Indies, extending a 45-day extension. India will get a new coach for the home series against South Africa from September 15. However, captain Virat Kohli has supported Shastri’s post. But it is believed that he will not give his opinion for the head coach.
